Dietary Recommendations
The world of diet and nutrition can be confusing and frustrating. It should first be noted that the goal should be adopting and maintaining appropriate lifestyle changes, not “dieting.” This strategy eliminates the need to diet and helps achieve long term weight goals as well as increased health.
Furthermore, there is constant debate over what foods are good or bad for the body. Most of this is based on science that is just as controversial. There are also many diet advocates including vegetarians, vegans, raw foodists, omnivores, blood type dieters, gluten-free, Paleo's, Atkin's, Mediterranean, Weston A. Price Foundation, Sally Fallon, Gerson Diet/Therapy, and many more, each preaching the superiority of their eating habits. Unfortunately there isn't a one size fits all diet. Being human, we each require our own set of foods for our health and wellness.
Patients at Paige Chiropractic and Acupuncture are provided food guidelines with strategies and tips to maintain the path of healthy eating. The guidelines are to provide the patient with the most current information from which to base an informed decision about what foods they choose to eat.
In some instances, patients are provided with a food log to be filled out and upon return it is reviewed with the patient. Reviewing a diet log is an effective way of looking what you are eating and making improvements that will improve your health and vitality.
